The purpose of this document is to provide a step by step method to set up remote access that is as simple as possible.  We make the following assumptions:

    • Multiuser DOS Gold installed on the C: drive.
    • Modem on COM port 1, 2, 3, or 4.
    • A modem recommended by Concurrent Controls is used.
    1. First configure the computer you will be dialing into. From the root directory of the C: drive, type CONFIG and press ENTER.
    2. Press ENTER to select System Configuration and Maintenance.
    3. Press ENTER to select Stations and Sessions.
    4. Press ALT or ENTER to bring up the Station menu. Select Add New Station and press Enter.
    5. Press the Right-arrow key or the TAB key to enter the Station Details window.
    6. Press ENTER to edit the name of the station. Give it a meaningful name. It is recommended that the name describe its position, not the user. Press ENTER to complete the naming process.
    7. Select Station Type press ENTER to get the list of available Station Types. Select CCI TERM and press ENTER.
    8. Highlight Video Adapter, press ENTER, select CGA.
    9. Highlight Number of Sessions, press ENTER, and enter the number of sessions desired.
    10. Highlight Assign to Port, press ENTER, and select the COM port to which the modem will be attached.
    11. Highlight Mode, press ENTER, select Remote, and press ENTER. Once Remote has been selected, the login security subsystem will be enabled and you will be notified at the bottom of the screen in a red box with yellow text. Press ENTER to continue. Note that you may press F1 for details on security.The rest of this screen may be left at the default values or changed as needed.
    12. Press ESC two (2) times and select Board Configuration and press ENTER or press B.
    13. Select Com Ports and press ALT or ENTER.
    14. Select Assign / Edit Port(s) and press ENTER or press E.
    15. There should be four (4) entries in the Port Assignments window at the left. These entries are in the order of their port numbers one through four. You will notice that when you use the Down-Arrow key to select these ports, that the Port Name entry in Port Details changes to reflect the proper port number you have selected. You should see the new remote station name assigned to the port you selected earlier.
    16. Press the TAB key or the Right-Arrow to enter the PortDetails window. You may also enter the Port Details window by pressing ENTER and choosing Edit Port Details. Note that the Port Type has already been set and should say PcTerm. Verify that the IRQ is correct for the port you have chosen.
    17. Select Baud Rate, press ENTER and select the apporpriate Baud rate. For high speed modems 38,400 is recommended. For slower modems choose as needed.
    18. Parity, data bits, and stop bits should be left as default (none-8-1).
    19. Select Receive Protocol and press ENTER, select RTS and press ENTER.
    20. Select Transmit Protocol, press ENTER, select CTS and press ENTER.
    21. Make sure the port base address is correct and change as necessary. This will likely be left at the default for the selected port.
    22. From the Port Details window press ESC four (4) times to return to the Configuration and Maintenance menu.
    23. Select Modems and press ENTER (or press d) to enter the Modem menu.
    24. Press Insert to add a modem to the Modem Names list.
    25. REBOOT THE SYSTEM TO MAKE THE CHANGES YOU MADE IN THE CONFIGURATION PROCESS ACTIVE. After the system boots, the next step is to program the modem .. continue
