This document covers how to program the function keys on the Relisys TR-170 serial terminal so that they will "dial a modem" automatically when pressed. The objective is to able to dial into a Concurrent or Multiuser DOS system with a Relisys TR 170 terminal in PCTERM mode.

2. Set the baud rate to match that of the modem.
3.Go into the Relisys Dialing Menu by hitting Shift + *.Following the menu directions, input the desired phone number and save it. Now Exit from SETUP.
4. Setup the port on the server as a multi-user terminal with the baud rate to match that of the modem

6. Setup the output protocol to DSR CTS XPC DCD
7. Setup the host modem in Auto Answer(AA). This can be done in one of two ways -in memory only, or in Non-volatile Memory.
A. In memory, setting the modem to AA can be done in CDOS by issuing the command ANSWER X at the C prompt where X represents either "1" or "2" for COM1 or COM2, respectively. This must be followed by answering the prompt that is brought up to "Select Baud Rate."
B. To save to Non-Volatile RAM, use a terminal emulator such as CCITERM in ASCII mode to program the modem's memory with these commands:
ATS0=1 (Answer after 1 ring)
AT&W0 (To save permanently)
 Procedure To Dial In:
Use the following procedure to dial into a CDOS system:
1. Go into the Relisys Dialing Menu and hit the F1 Key. You should hear the modem responding as the number is dialed.
2. After your modem has connected to the remote modem, hit F9 to exit from the menu.
3. To communicate with CDOS, hit the Ctl + Alt + F10. This will clear the screen and a C prompt will appear on the screen. Normal operation should now proceed.

Procedure to Disconnect:

1. To disconnect the terminal from the server, go into the Dialing Menu and hit F2 for Hangup(You may need to hit F2 more than once) You should now be disconnected from the remote modem.
