The purpose of this document is to provide a step by step, easy-to-understand method to set up
CCITERM for programming a modem.
ASSUMPTIONS
- A PC capable of running CCITERM is used.
- One of the COM ports is used (COM1, COM2).
- A CCI recommended external modem is used.
DIRECTIONS
Following the directions below should result in proper communciations with a
modem.
- From the root directory of the C: drive, type CCITERM and press ENTER.
- At the menu press F3 to select Configuration Parameters.
- Below are the proper parameter settings for terminal setup: (all parameters
not listed can be left at default settings for basic operation)
F1 - Communications Port...............................as needed
F2 - Baud Rate...............................................as needed
F4 - Handshaking - Receive Protocol.................DTR (or as needed)
F10 - Connect sequence sent when on-line.........Refresh/Resync CDOS
Shift F1 - Wait for connect signal......................No
Shift F7 - Upon exiting CCITERM......................Do nothing
Shift F9 - Handshaking - Transmit Protocol........NONE
- Press ESC to go back to the main menu, do not save these parameters. These
are temporary settings used for configuring your modem only.
- Press F1 to go On-Line.
- Type AT and press ENTER. If the modem returns with OK then continue,
otherwise enter ATE1 then press ENTER. Verify that the modem responds with OK by
typing AT and ENTER again.
- Program your modem with the AT commands as listed in your manual or in the
one pager for your particular modem.
- When you have completed programming your modem reset the port by
typing:
MODE COMn baud RESET
For example, use MODE COM1 19200
RESET to reset COM1. Concurrent DOS users should use the CCIMODE command instead of MODE.
